Getting to Know Malissa Davis of Recreation and Wellness
How long have you been at BGSU? In that time what is the biggest change you have seen on campus.
I am a new BGSU employee, just starting in December 2011. I have heard of many changes that have happened on campus in the past year and I am excited to get out and explore some of them. I am looking forward to attending events at the Stroh Center and exploring the Wolfe Center.
What do you enjoy the most about your position?
The people I meet every day. Everyone here has been wonderful since my first day. I enjoy working closely with the students, and the faculty at BGSU is the best. I love the variety that my new position brings. There is never a dull moment.
What is your favorite meal/restaurant on campus?
Pinkberry … I absolutely love it! My daughter introduced me to it and I could not thank her enough. I love anything sweet.
What is your favorite piece of technology that you cannot live without?
It would be my cell phone. I hate to admit it but if I happen to forget it at home, I feel lost. It is not that I use it all the time but I like to know it is there.
What is your favorite way to show appreciation to staff and colleagues?
A smile and a “thank you” are one of my favorites. I feel a smile can go a long way and I think it is very important that people feel appreciated. I also like to give cards and bake yummy treats.
How do you spend your time when you are not at work?
I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy volunteering and helping in the community when I can.
BGSU has many traditions, which tradition is your favorite?
Since I am new to BGSU, I do not know many of the traditions here but I like the Roll Along spirit.
