Audio-Visual Services The Bowen-Thompson Student Union Audio-Visual staff member is responsible for setting up and dismantling audio/visual (A/V)
equipment used in meeting rooms and throughout the building. The staff will also provide technical assistance and support
during events as requested or as needed. It is important that the A/V staff member is familiar with the building, its equipment,
policies, programs and services and the day-to-day schedule of events.
Building Services The Bowen-Thompson Student Union Building Services staff is responsible for setting up room arrangements. It is important
that the Building Services staff is familiar with the building, its equipment, policies, programs and services and the day-to-day
schedule of events.
Building Managers The Bowen-Thompson Student Union Student Building Managers are responsible for managing the facility and Olscamp Center during
the evening hours and on weekends when the full-time staff is off duty. It is imperative that the Student Building Manager
be familiar with the building, its equipment, policies, programs and services and the day-to-day schedule of events. This
position requires knowledge of the University. The role of the Student Building Manager encompasses that of a meeting facilitator,
problem solver, interpreter of policies, supervisor of student staff, security monitor and a resource person.
This position has significant supervisory responsibilities, and will delegate tasks to a wide range of staff in the Bowen-Thompson
Student Union.
Custodial Services The Union Custodial staff member is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The staff member will be responsible for cleaning the building on appointed rounds, and will also be available on an as-needed
basis. The staff member will provide excellent customer service to the staff and patrons of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Information Center The Information Center staff member will serve as a primary point of contact for customers in the Bowen-Thompson Student
Union, and is responsible for all aspects of customer-service throughout the facility. Staff will also maintain Factline,
Parents Helpline, and computer information systems that provide information to the BGSU community. Information Center Staff
will be responsible for all aspects of the Photo ID program to provide identification cards for all BGSU students, staff,
faculty, and guests.
Office Assistant The Bowen-Thompson Student Union Office Assistant staff member is responsible for assisting the full time staff with the operation
of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Administrative Office. It is important that Office Assistant staff member is familiar
with the building, its equipment, policies, programs and services and the day-to-day schedule of events. Additionally the
Office Assistant staff member must be knowledgeable about Bowling Green State University. The Office Assistant is also responsible
for assisting the Student Union Event Planning staff with all facets of the event planning process. This includes events held
in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, the Olscamp Center, and other indoor and outdoor spaces whose use is coordinated by the
Student Union.
