Bowen-Thompson Student Union Student Employee Recognition Program
The Supervisory Staff and Employee Advisory Committee (EAC) of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union are proud to announce the
start of the Student Employee of the Month and Student Employee of the Year Awards, as part of an overall recognition program
for student staff of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize and reward staff members for excellence in service to the overall mission of the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union through outstanding efforts in each work area. Recognition is based upon employee contributions
and achievements that enhance organizational performance, support organizational goals and objectives, and improve the quality
of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Categories of Recognition
- Employee of the Month : Given to the employee who performs above and beyond the scope of their normal job duties, or who distinguishes themselves
throughout a particular month.
- Employee of the Year: Given to the employee who has performed above average consistently throughout an entire year. This employee has exemplified
the concepts of teamwork and dedication, and has been a leader among their peers.
Nominations
Nominations will be submitted to the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Suite 231, using the forms attached below. The deadline
for accepting nominations for a particular month will be the last business day of that month. The EAC will then meet to review
the nominations and determine the winner of the award.
All nominees will be sent a congratulatory letter from the Union Director, and a copy will be sent to the supervisor for the
employee's file.
Judging
Judging of the Employee of the Month Award and Employee of the Year Award will be done by the EAC. The EAC will read and vote
on each of the nominations at the end of each month and make its decision. The chosen student employee of the month will have
his or her picture displayed at the Information Center until a new award winner is selected at the end of the following month.
What does the Employee of the Month win?
- A certificate to mark their achievement
- Their picture will be placed on a plaque for the entire month at the Information Center
- The winner's name will also be placed on that year's plaque for Employees of the Month that will be on display on the second
floor of the Student Union
- Gift certificate for food in the Student Union - value $20.00
What does the Employee of the Year win?
- A special plaque given to the winner at the end of the year celebration
- Winner's name placed on a special Employee of the Year plaque
- Certificate for food in Union -value $20.00
