By submitting the preference form, a residential agreement card will be mailed to the address provided mid-November. Either the full payment (as shown below) or the first installment plan payment will need to be made on or before the indicated due date.

**All students taking eight or more credit hours on main campus and all international students are required to have health insurance coverage. Your account is automatically charged this premium. If you have coverage that meets a basic standard set by the University you can have this premium waived by logging on to My.BGSU and clicking on the Student Insurance Requirement link.
The estimated in-state and out-of-state fees include: $80 matriculation fee, $8 registration fee and $7 legal fee.
Payment can be made by personal check, money order or with a Master Card, or Discover Card. If you choose to use your credit card, please visit the Office of the Bursar's web site and click on PAY BGSU BURSAR BILL. You will need your BGSU Student ID number and a valid e-mail address to pay on the web. If you pay on-line, please mail the signed Residential Agreement Card to the Bursar’s Office indicating payment was made on-line. You may also pay by phone by calling 1.866.364.4176 (convenience fee applies to credit card payments).
Students with partial financial aid, grants or scholarships may deduct their approved aid from the total expense due and then submit the remaining balance due. If you are unsure of your financial aid status, please check with the Office of Student Financial Aid immediately (419.372.2651), sfa@bgsu.edu or log-on to your My.BGSU account and view your financial aid on-line. Please do not assume that your payment will be totally paid by financial aid. All aid must be complete in order to be used to pay your financial obligations.
Installment Payment Plan
Room, meals and fees (instructional, general and nonresident fees) may be paid on BGSU’s Installment Payment Plan. For more information, please visit the Office of the Bursar's web site.
Assignment Notification
Assignment notification will be e-mailed (to student’s BGSU e-mail account) approximately two weeks prior to the first day of classes to those students who have made the full payment or the appropriate installment payment to the Office of the Bursar. Notification will include your roommate’s name, address and phone number, and the residence, room number and phone number.
Terms of Agreement
The On-campus Housing and Dining Agreement establishes the terms and conditions of occupancy in the University residences between the room occupant and Bowling Green State University. All residents are expected to review and understand the obligations outlined in this agreement.Residency Requirement
The Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees has set a requirement for two years of residency in University housing subject to the following exceptions:
- The student will be 23 years of age as of August 25, 2008;
- The student will complete four semesters of on-campus residency as of August 25, 2008;
- The student will attain junior level status as of August 25, 2008;
- The student will be commuting daily from the permanent home address of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) within a 50-mile radius of BGSU);
Please note that the Office of Residence Life considers the permanent home address of the student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to be the address of record on file with federal, state and local tax agencies and where a minimum of one of the student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) reside.
Please note that providing false information to the University is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
- The student is a parent with custodial care responsibilities (proof of custodial care required);
- The student will fulfill one of the requirements to be considered an independent student (as determined by the Office of Financial Aid) as of August 25, 2008;
- The student will complete 30 months of consecutive military service as of August 25, 2008.
