BG Experience is an innovative academic program required for all first-year students.
During the introduction, students participate in lively, interactive small group sessions that help them learn about expectations,
introduce them to concepts useful in exploring their values, discuss a common reading and examine the role values play in
decision making.
Once the semester begins, students take a general education class-- along with the other students in their introduction group--taught
by the professor who led their group. The peer mentor also participates in the class, assisting the professor and serving
as a resource for students.
BG Experience classes are offered in a wide array of subject areas--from biology and history to popular culture and art. All
BG Experience classes help students fulfill their degree requirements and cover the typical course content.
