Spacer Posters & Table Tents Advertising Policy Spacer
  Permission
  1. Only University Departments and registered student organizations in good standing are permitted to display posters/fliers and table tents.
  2. Posters/fliers and table tents for University Dining Centers and residence halls must be approved by the Office of Residence Life, 222 Saddlemire Student Services at Conklin. Please see the Information Center at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union for table tent and posting policy within the Union.
  3. The Office of Residence Life has the right to refuse any advertising done within University dining facilities and residence halls that does not support the goals and objectives of the department, the Division of Student Affairs or the University community.
  4. Failure to obtain permission or adhere to the guidelines stated in this policy forfeits the organization/department's right to display table tents in the dining halls and/or posters/fliers in the residence halls for the remainder of the year.
  5. Posters/fliers, verbal and audio advertising are not permitted in any University dining center area, including on windows, walls, doors, etc.
Table Tent Design Requirements

Groups should bring information that is going to be printed on the table tent to the Office of Residence Life for preliminary approval.

The layout of the table tent should be formatted on a 8 1/2"x11" card stock, landscape view.

The table tent must be printed on 81/2"x11" 67# card stock or 67# cover stock. Cut and folded, the size of one table tent should be 4 1/2" x 5 1/2".

For final approval, it will be necessary to bring 5 originals of the table tent to the Office of Residence Life. One will be kept on file at the Office of Residence Life. The other 4 will be stamped and returned to the group to distribute 1 to each of the 4 dining center managers.

Quantities of Table Tents

The quantity of table tents printed is at the discretion of the organization. However, each dining center will only accept the following number of table tents:

  • Commons Dining Center - 40
  • Founders Dining Center - 40
  • Kreischer Dining Center - 40
  • McDonald Dining Center - 50
Placement of Table Tents

The organization/department will need to deliver the table tents to the manager of each dining facility showing the table tent stamped with the Office of Residence Life's approval.

Each dining center will display no more than three (3) table tents per table at any time. If more than three table tents are found on a table they may be removed.

University Dining Centers will display each table tent for a period of not less than two days. Table tents will be displayed for longer periods at the discretion of the Management. University Dining Services reserves the right to decrease/increase the display time of each table tent, depending on the event advertised and the volume.

Posters/Fliers

To obtain approval by the Office of Residence Life for distribution and posting at designated locations in the residence halls, posters/fliers must contain the following:

  • description of event/activity/service
  • identification of the sponsoring organization or department
  • whether there is any charge for the event
  • the date/time/location of the event
  • reason for the event/activity/service
  • contact person's name, phone number or e-mail address

A sample of the proposed poster/flier should be submitted to the Office of Residence life before posters are made in the event that changes must be made.

The Office of Residence Life staff will as the representative of the organization/department to stamp the posters/fliers at the front desk. One poster/flier will be kept by the Office of the Residence Life for their records.

Posters/fliers approved by the Office of Residence Life must then be submitted to the main desk of the residence halls. Posters/fliers will be taken down after the event.

Quantities of Posters/Fliers

It is the organization/department's responsibility to count and separate the appropriate number of posters/fliers for each residence hall and/or RA. The posters/fliers should be grouped and labeled with the residence hall name.
