Student Desk Manager Job Description:
The Student Desk Manager is responsible for leadership and supervision of the operations of a BGSU Residence Hall Front Desk. The Student Desk Manager is also responsible for providing administrative support to the Hall Director and Graduate Hall Director/Graduate Leadership Coordinator. This person should be able to demonstrate effective skills in communication, leadership, administration, and must understand and be sensitive to the needs of others. The Student Desk Manager is not required to live in a residence hall, however, this position requires some evening hours, on call responsibility, and last-minute Desk coverage. As such, the Student Desk Manager must be available by phone at all times. This position will work at least 20, but no more than 23 hours per week. Of the required hours, 18 of these hours must be scheduled between 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday. The Student Desk Manager is supervised by the Hall Director/Graduate Hall Director/Graduate Leadership Coordinator. This appointment is for one full academic year.
The Student Desk Manager must have at least one year of service as a Resident Advisor, Administrative Resident Advisor, Student Administrative Assistant, or Desk Clerk at BGSU. The Student Desk Manager must have and maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA. The Student Desk Manager may not currently be on Residence Life Employment Probation, Student Conduct (Residential/University), or Academic Probation.
