Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships are offered by the Department of Recreation and Wellness with the mission to best serve the needs of the department, students, and clients while collectively providing GA's with opportunities including retreats, mentoring, and the ability to enhance interpersonal skills and gain practical management and leadership experiences.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree (earning a 3.0 accumulated GPA) preferably in physical education, sport management, recreation, or a related field.
2. Possess knowledge of basic recreation management skills.
3. Apply to the BGSU Graduate College and receive acceptance into a graduate degree program.
4. Achieve a minimum Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score of 1000.

Assignment is contingent upon admission to the BGSU Graduate College and eligibility for assistantship (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).  Two-year program stipend includes approximately $8404 for nine months with full in/out-of-state tuition waiver per academic year and general fee coverage.
