Outdoor Program - Climbing Wall

The climbing wall is a highlight of the Student Recreation Center! At 35 feet tall, opportunities are offered for novice, intermediate, and advanced climbers. The climbing competition in the spring gives climbers the opportunity to test their skills against others in a friendly competitive event.

"Ascending a natural or artificial rock wall burns up to 700 calories an hour if you weigh 140 pounds or up to 974 calories
an hour if you weigh 190 pounds."
- Health A to Z - Rock Climbing

"Climbing at the wall has not only helped me learn a new sport and meet a great group of people, but it has taught me about pushing myself to new heights.”
- Olivia Tiettmeyer, BGSU Student
