Shinny Hockey

Shinny Hockey sessions are Ice Arena's drop-in hockey times. The length, time, and size of sessions vary throughout the season. Call the Newlove Pro Shop at 419.372.2264 or check the Ice Schedules for details. 

• Junior Shinny: Junior High School age and below 
• Senior Shinny: High School JV players and above 
• Cost: $10.00 per player, goalies play free

Family Stick & Puck

For parents and children 12 years and under.  This recreational, non-competitive, fun hockey session is ideal for parents and youth who want to enjoy the sport of hockey.  The level of play on the ice must be safe for all abilities of children including beginners and the puck must stay on the ice at all times. Participants provide sticks, the BGSU Ice Arena provides pucks. Children must be supervised by an on-ice parent/adult at all times, and wear full hockey equipment. Parent/adult must wear helmet with full face mask, full hockey equipment is recommended.  

• Cost: $5.00 per person

Falcon Hockey

The Ice Arena staff is proud to play an important role in the development of the BGSU Falcon Hockey program.  The staff is there behind the scenes, on a daily basis, providing top quality ice and related facility services.

The Newlove Pro Shop carries souvenir merchandise, management oversees the carries souvenir merchandise, the staging of varsity games and everyone from Student Employees and Building Superintendent to Graduate Assistants, Account Clerk and Director assist the players and coaches in any way they can!

  Fans that live away from Bowling Green or can't attend games can still 'tally an assist' by purchasing season tickets to help support Falcon Hockey. All season tickets purchased through the Falcon Assist Donation Program will be donated to youth-oriented non-profit organizations in the Wood County area. -- $105.00
• Falcon Flex Pack:
  The ultimate in flexibility, you make the call! TWELVE Bench Reserved vouchers redeemable in any combination for any regular season home game. Tickets subject to availability. Must be redeemed at the BGSU Athletic Ticket Office in advance or on game day. -- $120.00

Bowling Green Youth Hockey

The community of Bowling Green sponsors a hockey program for area girls and boys.  The focus of this program is participation.

BG Youth Hockey offers house leagues that practice about 1 time per week and play 1 or 2 games per week during the hockey season, October - February.

Travel leagues are also offered that practice 2 or 3 times a week and may play as many as 4 or 5 games per week.  The travel season is usually longer than the house season beginning in August and concluding in April.  In order to skate on a travel team, players must tryout before the season begins.
