Ice Arena - Hockey Programs
Youth Hockey Summer Clinics
Get ahead by developing skills and power skating abilities during the summer months.
- IP through Pee Wee levels.
- Skills development clinics focus on the introduction and growth of sport specific skills; balance, coordination, agility, and puck control through rotating drills and small game challenges.
- Power skating clinics focus on the development of speed and power through refining skating skills and ability with emphasis placed on stroking, edges, agility, quickness, and change of direction.
- Costs vary based on session. Discounts applied when registering for multiple sessions.

Sessions begin June 10 and July 29.
Players are welcome to walk in anytime to one of the many different types of “drop-in” sessions to work on skills or play in a pick-up game.

Adult Senior League
Senior league is a recreational adult hockey program run during the spring and summer seasons through the Ice Arena for players ages 18 and older. Two leagues are offered during the spring and summer seasons, an A/B league and a C league. Both leagues are non-checking and slap shots are not permitted. Players can sign up individually or as a team. Strict adherence to USA Hockey rules is expected by all players and Ice Arena staff endorses a "Zero Tolerance" policy for aggression and violence among spectators and players in the leagues!

3 on 3 Hockey
3 on 3 hockey league is a recreational adult hockey program run during the fall season through the Ice Arena for players ages 18 and older. One league is offered and is non-checking and slap shots are not permitted. Players can sign up individually or as a team. Youth Hockey Programming
During the off-season various types of programs are offered for youth hockey players from skills clinics to 3 on 3 leagues through the Ice Arena.
During the hockey season (October – February) the Bowling Green Youth Hockey Association (BGYHA) offers house and travel leagues ranging from the IP (instructional program) level through the Bantam level.

The Ice Arena staff is proud to play an important role in the development of the BGSU Falcon Hockey program. The staff is there behind the scenes, on a daily basis, providing top quality ice and related facility services.
The Newlove Pro Shop carries souvenir merchandise, management oversees the carrying of souvenir merchandise, the staging of varsity games and everyone from Student Employees and Building Superintendent to Graduate Assistants, Account Clerks and the Director who assists the players and coaches in any way they can!

BGSU Club Hockey
The BGSU Ice Arena is home to the BGSU Club Hockey team. The team is composed of students who still want to play hockey competitively while working towards a college degree. In 2010, the organization advanced to the ACHA DII National Tournament for the first time in club history. The team has advanced to regional play for the past 4 years in row. The club team is organized and run entirely by BGSU students through Recreation and Wellness Sport Clubs.

High School Hockey
The BGSU Ice Arena is home to the Bowling Green High School Bobcat Hockey team. As six time State Champions, the Bobcat’s are part of the rich hockey tradition in the Bowling Green community. Additional local high school teams also promote the strong local hockey culture by calling the BGSU Ice Arena home. Games are often held Friday evenings through Sunday afternoons during the high school hockey season (November – February).
