WHO'S WHO IN REC SPORTS

Heather Meeker - Aquatics
Heather is a junior majoring in Early Childhood Education: Special Education, has been working as a Crew Chief, Lifeguard
and Learn-To-Swim Instructor for the past three years. Her favorite aspect of working in Recreational Sports is by far the
people she works with. She also enjoys the healthy lifestyle atmosphere that Recreational Sports promotes. Heather has earned
multiple Rec Sports bucks for different things however, most notable is her exemplary display of customer service on a daily
basis.
Christina Rousch - CSA/SRC

Christiana is a senior and she is majoring in Middle Childhood Education. She is currently student teaching 8th grade at Napoleon
Middle School. Christina is very experienced as a Customer Service Attendant at the Student Recreation Center, as she has
worked here for 3 ½ years! “I absolutely love this job, and my favorite aspect of working in Recreational Sports is all the
other amazing co-workers,” commented Christina. She earned her Buck for working every day over Spring Break. Thanks for the dedication, Christina!
Jessica McElroy-PFH Manager
Jessica is a senior majoring in biology with a specialization in aquatic science. She has been working at the Perry Field
House since Fall 2005 and has been a manager since Spring 2006. Jessica really enjoys working with people and displays that
through her excellent customer service skills. She also enjoys making new friends with other PFH employees. So far this semester
Jessica has earned 4 Rec Bucks: 3 for assisting with multiple OP/RS Projects, and 1 for doing an exceptional job cleaning
up after a large wrestling meet. Jessica has been a great asset to the PFH staff and will be greatly missed when she graduates
this spring.
Justin Kautz - Intramural Sports
Justin is a senior sport management major who has worked for the Intramural Sports for three years as an official, manager,
and office worker. He loves the social aspect of the Recreational Sports and all the friends he has made through working IM
Sports. Justin is an outstanding student employee who consistently goes above and beyond his duties. He helps with all aspects
of our department including scheduling, bracket making, and any other areas that may need assistance. Justin has received
multiple Rec Sports Bucks for his performance and contributions to the Intramural Department. He continually helps improves
our department and will missed after he graduates in May. Justin hopes to earn a Graduate Assistantship in Intramurals at
another university to continue his work in the field. Thanks for everything Justin!!
Erin Ansley - Floor Attendant
Erin is a model employee in every sense of the word. She has been working at the Student Recreation Center for two years.
She is hard working and constantly looking for ways to improve the SRC. Erin is always friendly to patrons and never comes
to work without a smile on her face. Her favorite aspects of working in Recreational Sports are her awesome co-workers and
seeing all the friendly faces at the Rec. She earned her Rec Sports Bucks by going above and beyond her job duties by helping
patrons while she wasn’t working and giving tours to patrons on President’s Day. She is majoring in Applied Health Science.
After she graduates this May, she will be pursuing her Master’s Degree at The Ohio State University. Erin works out at the
Student Recreation Center consistently and participates in intramural sports at the Perry Field House. I know I speak for
everyone when I say that we all wish she was not graduating and leaving this Spring but wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Mike Piller - Pro-Shop Manager
Mike has demonstrated oustanding customer service while working in the Pro Shop. Dr. Whipple has recognized him for his efforts
by awarding him 5 rec sports bucks. His outgoing attitude and do the best you can at everything work ethic has truly given
the patrons a welcomed feeling and has helped in the motivation and morale of other student employees.
Jake Myers - Climbing Wall
Jake is a Wall Attendant at Bowling Green State University’s climbing wall and has been an avid climber for over two years
with the past year being his first as a member of the staff. As a member of the climbing wall staff he has enjoyed that the
position allows him to work with others with similar interests, increase his skills as a climber, and become a more mentally
and physically fit person. As a senior fine arts major Jake has put to use his keen artistic abilities as one of the program’s
top route setters. It was these abilities that earned him his Rec Bucks award for the time he spent setting routes for the
annual climbing competition.
Alyssa Ittu - Aerobics Instructor
Alyssa is a Group Exercise Instructor and theStudent Supervisor for fitness here at the SRC. She has great communicatin skills with
not only her participants but with the staff as well. Alyssa always has a smile on her face and makes fitness classes fun
and challenging. She is always going above and beyond her job duties to make sure Group-X is a solid and strong program. Alyssa
is a great asset to our program and we all appreciate her hard work and dedication.!! Thanks Alyssa!!
