STUDENT EMPLOYEE PROFILE: DAVE SCOTT Story by Ashley Ruff, BGSU Student Recreational Sports Public Relations - Spring 2008
Dave Scott is a super employee at the Student Recreation Center. Scott holds three important positions: Intramural Manager,
Intramural Treasurer and Extramural Vice President. Scott qualified immediately for the position of Manager of Intramurals
because of his involvement with the program. Scott competed in every intramural sport available at BGSU on the team “Friends
of Jesus”. Scott’s involvement and love for intramurals made him an excellent addition to the Intramural Program staff, whose
purpose is to promote intramural sports on BGSU’s campus.
Scott could not think of a better place to work other than the SRC. Scott enjoys every aspect of being employed by the SRC
and being involved with the Intramural Sports program.
“I love being able to come to work and interact with all kinds of different people. I also love getting paid to watch sports.
Sports are my life and to make money while playing sports is a dream come true,” says Scott. Scott has received REC Sports
Bucks for exceeding his responsibilities as an Intramural employee.
“I work each night at whatever sport needs assistance. I pick up shifts that people cannot make. I also volunteered to run
a captain meetings and assist in training officials and scorekeepers,” explains Scott on earning his REC Sports Bucks. Scott’s
motivation to go above and beyond his initial responsibilities is his love for intramurals and sports. Scott says he owes
the Intramural Program a great deal because it has helped him make it through his time at BGSU. “Intramurals has helped me
make great friends and teach me things about myself that are needed to succeed after graduation,” says Scott.
Scott plans to continue earning REC Sports Bucks and save 15 to receive the congratulating plaque. Scott is a senior at BGSU
studying Interpersonal Communications (ICP) and is looking forward to graduation in December 2008.
