Rachel Tisher, a senior at BGSU, is an OP Wall Staff student employee at the Student Recreation Center (SRC). Tisher earned
a Recreational Sports Buck for imputing and filing large stacks of try climbs, belay certificates and climbing wavers into
the rock wall database. Tisher said her motivation for going above and beyond her expected duties was because she saw that
her supervisor needed a breather from her paperwork. “The try climbs and belay certifications were really piling up one night.
With all the try climbs that we have at the beginning of the semester the paper work is enough to drown someone. Plus the
faster we get it in the computer the more convenient it is for patrons to swipe and climb,” explains Tisher.
Tisher, an Art Education major with a focus in Fiber Arts is looking forward to earning enough REC Sports Bucks so that her
boss has to work for her during one shift. “I would love to come into work just to see this,” says Tisher.
The rock wall at the SRC is available to the faculty and students at BGSU. The rock wall is a fun and exciting adventure in
working out. “The rock wall is great fun,” exclaims Tisher!
