TEAMBUILDING

Outdoor Program staff members offer team building sessions for student organizations and corporations aspiring to build a productive and positive environment where members create beneficial relationships, develop effective communications, and ultimately have successful group experiences.  Our staff work to design a custom team development session that specifically meets the needs of your team or organization.

BASIC GUIDELINES

1.Select between 10-15 organization members to participate in the mini-retreat (we cannot accommodate larger groups).

2. A facilitator will set up a pre-event meeting with 2-3 representatives to discuss, in detail, the goals and objectives you would like to target during your retreat.

3. Facilitators will select activities to help your group reach desired outcomes.

4. As assigned facilitator will guide your group through various team building activities and brainstorming sessions to help you plan for the future success of your organization.

Please contact Dr. Bryan Cavins for more information regarding scheduling and price structure.

  BENEFITS OF GROUP CHALLENGE EXPERIENCES

Building Relationships: Our activities encourage people to work together and set the stage for a productive semester or work year.

Team Building: “Many hands make light work” is the theme of these exercises. We can help break the ice among your members and let them find out what they can accomplish by speaking up, helping out and working together to accomplish a common goal.

Creativity: Activities give your organization a jump-start to thinking in different directions. Minds will be puzzled and challenged to think outside of the box.

Decision Making: Need a little creative spark in your organizational thinking? Our initiatives have more than one solution and we observe how the group develops ideas and chooses solutions.

Communication: Speech is the most widely used form for people to convey their ideas, thoughts and concerns. Our initiatives will help members improve communication and feedback skills.

Trust: Trust can take a long time to build and yet can crumble in minutes. If your organization is not working well together, perhaps they are unsure of each other’s motives or are uncomfortable around other members. Our initiatives help individuals learn how to rely on group members for support and comfort.

Problem Solving: Our initiatives encompass many skills and pull talents from every member. Participants brainstorm ideas as a group, come to group consensus on a plan and implement trial/error techniques to find solutions.
