The community of Bowling Green sponsors a US Figure Skating club which incorporates lessons for skaters from basic skills
through the advanced competitive ranks. Junior Skating Club activities take place weekly on Saturday mornings and the club
also sponsors several synchronized skating teams as well as an adult club. Visit the Bowling Green Skating Club web site for more information.
April 20 & 21, 2007 marked the 21st edition of Ice Horizons, the bi-annual ice show featuring Bowling Green Skating Club members and special guest skaters. Ice
Horizons helps promote the art, craft and sport of figure skating among the youth and adults of Northwest Ohio. The first Ice
Horizons Show was March 29, 1968 and there was a show every year until after the 1971 show when it was determined due to the
scope and cost of the production, a bi-annual show would help improve the quality of the event. Planning starts more than
a year in advance. Ice Horizons has grown over the years, becoming widely known as one of the finest amateur ice shows produced
by a skating club in the United States. Past shows have featured some of the most famous ice skaters in America including
Bowling Green natives Scott Hamilton and Alissa Czisny.
