GROUP SKATING LESSONS SKILLS AND DRILLS ONE FOOT GLIDE
This page features various skills that are developed during BGSU Ice Arena's Group Skating Lessons. Pictured here is a one
foot glide which is introduced at the Basic 2 level and is reinforced on Basic 4 through edges on a circle.
A one foot glide is performed by lifting one leg, at the hip and pointing the toe strongly downward. The upper body should
be lifted while the shoulders and arms press firmly toward the ice. This move is important because it introduces the concept
of transferring body weight to the skating side.
