SENIOR LEAGUE GENERAL INFORMATION
This page is a reference for answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding our Senior Hockey Leagues. Please contact
Ice Arena Director, Buddy Powers , at 419.372.2764 if your concerns are not addressed below:
What does Slo-Puck mean?
This term references the fact that slap shots are not permitted during league play. Some laugh that the play is sometimes
slow? We at the BGSU Ice Arena, of course, think the level of play and that of the players is top notch! For more about the
rules click HERE.

How will draft night work?
A registration table staffed by our commissioners and other league officials is available. Players may register entire teams or as individuals on this night, but we encourage you to send forms in earlier if possible.
There is no charge for this ice time. Both players of A and B leagues will skate together in this "shinny like" session. Skaters
may arrive late or leave early. All registered or interested players are encouraged to attend and full equipment is mandatory.
Bring a friend, try it out!
When can I find out my game schedule and names of players on my team?
Rosters are completed shortly after the registration deadline and available on the Slo-Puck bulletin board at the Ice Arena
and at this site. Every effort will be made to get the information out to you quickly.
What do I get if my team wins?
Well, you will have a life time of memories and much more. The winner in each league receives a team trophy and will have
their team name engraved on the master trophy, housed at the Ice Arena. You will always have your jersey and, chances are,
several pictures on our web-site.
Can players substitute if a team member is sick or needs to miss a game for some other reason?
Goalie substitutions, which will not affect the legitimacy of the game, are allowed at any time. Other players may be allowed
to substitute with permission from the commissioners at a rate of $15.00 per game. Players must sign-in and and should be
prepared to show photo identification to verify rosters.
Summer league players must be at least 13 years of age to play in the B League and at least 18 years of age to participate
in the A League. Spring league players must be 18 years of age.
Do I have to get a jersey and is there a discount if I don't need a one?
Jerseys are not an option and will be provided to all players, even to teams that have chosen to independently purchase their
own. Teams that wish to wear their own jersey simply need to pre-approve the color with the commissioners. All jerseys must
be the same color and all players should wear the same number for the entire season.
