AMBER AND ALISSA CZISNY

The BGSU Ice Arena staff have long been friends and fans of Alissa and Amber Czisny.  On Wednesday evening, December 21, 2005 the Ice Arena hosted a community-wide CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS to honor Alissa and "send her off" to THE 2006 Nationals in hopes of qualifying for the Olympics!

There was a reception and an exhibition including BG residents; Amber Czisny (Alissa's twin sister, best friend and training partner), Melissa Telecky, Matthew Ko, Melinda Barman, Emily Scherreik and Courtney Van Horn. Alissa's friends from the Detoit Skating Club; Trevor Young and Andrea Best, Jonathan Cassar, Charlie White and Courtney Strong also skated in her honor. Cake and punch were served during open skating session while Alissa signed autographs.

The event was sanctioned by US Figure Skating and was sponsored by the BGSU Ice Arena, the BGSU Office of the Executive Vice-President and Jackson Ultima Skates.

Check back here for updates regarding Alissa's success on the world skating scene and for more information.
