WARM-UP AND STRETCHING

Warm-up exercises should be performed prior to every workout. Warming-up helps to reduce the risk of injury while exercising. It also helps to increase the temperature of the body and get the blood flowing to the muscles that will be used during exercise. It is recommend that you perform 3-5 minutes of light aerobic activity or light weight training exercises using the muscles that you will be working prior to each exercise.

Stretching should be performed following every workout. This will help to prevent muscle soreness and also help to increase flexibility within the joint. Perform 1-2 stretches for each muscle group. Hold stretches from 20-30 seconds each. Stretch to a point of moderate discomfort and do not bounce.
