How many buses does shuttles does the university own?
A.
University shuttle services own nine buses including the newly
purchased 41-seat bus for the south off-campus route.

How does the university pay for the shuttle service?
A.
Shuttle services are run through the Parking Services. So
all parking tickets and parking passes pay for the shuttles.
Q.
How many miles do the shuttles drive?
A.
The shuttles drive more than 4,000 miles each week that is
equivalent to driving from New York to Los Angeles and then
back to St. Louis each week. They travel more than 128,000
miles during the spring and fall semesters alone.

What other schools in Ohio have shuttles?
A.
Kent State University (goes to other cities as well as around campus)
and Miami University (private company- not done through the university)
have existing shuttle services; Ohio University (called Jim to get
opinion) is interested in starting a shuttle service. Ohio State
University and University of Toledo provide students with city bus
pass.

How many drivers are does the university employ?
A.
Low turnover- There are currently 17 drivers. Since the beginning
of the Bowling Green State University shuttle system in 1989, there
have only been 33 different shuttle drivers.
FACT:
Last
year more than 500,000 students used the shuttle services. This
is an increase of almost 100,000 riders from the year before nearly
a 20 percent increase.
