The Office of Pre College Services at Bowling Green State University are federally funded TRIO programs , which includes the Educational Talent Search Program and the Upward Bound Program.

TRIO programs assert our nation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstances.  Congress established the programs to help Americans enter college and graduate.  The programs ultimately produce skilled and educated adults, who can meet the needs of a growing economy.

TRIO programs are:

• COMMUNITY BASED The Office of Pre College Services has local support from their host institution (BGSU), the Toledo School district, community agencies, organizations, businesses and parents.
• RESULTS ORIENTED The Office of Pre College Services continues to receive funding to provide assistance because results are produced.  Results are effectively measured based on the success of helping program participants to enter and succeed in post secondary education.  
• ACCOUNTABILITY The achievements of the Office of Pre College Services are realized in the personal commitments of the program professionals and participants.  All are accountable for ensuring that academic advancement is attained.
