Parent and Family Resources
Welcome to the Bowling Green State University community. We value your contributions to BGSU and welcome your involvement in University activities.
Research has shown that college students will contact their families first in times of need. Your involvement in your son’s or daughter’s college experience directly affects their academic and personal success. The information on this page has been designed to provide you with helpful information as you respond to your son’s or daughter’s concerns and to show how you can be involved as a BGSU parent. We have made an attempt to identify some of the common areas of concern expressed by parents and families over the years and to provide straightforward answers and additional campus resources. We hope you will bookmark this page and refer to it often during the time your son or daughter is at BGSU.
The college years are never easy; they are a time of new friendships, new responsibilities, and new academic and social opportunities. There will be times of joy, sadness, anxiety, frustration and celebration. We are engaged in a partnership— you, your son or daughter and the University.
Our common goal is to create a self-assured, productive individual who is prepared to lead and to face an ever-changing world. The fact that you are visiting this page speaks to your commitment to your son’s or daughter’s experience at BGSU. Take every opportunity to visit the campus, especially on special weekends such as Homecoming and Family Weekend.
Please let us know if there is anything with which we can assist. Once again, welcome to Bowling Green State University!
