Before Orientation and Registration

BGSU Email & MyBGSU Accounts
When admitted, you should have received a letter from the Office of Admissions with information about your BGSU email account and your Web portal account (MyBGSU), and a temporary BGSU identification card including your BGSU 10-digit ID number. To complete most of the items below, you will need to activate these accounts.
Online Placement Tests
Placement Tests must be taken online prior to attending Orientation & Registration.
Transfer Connection program online (Transfer students only)
You must complete this on-line orientation prior to your on-campus Transfer Registration date.
Student Financial Aid
Prior to arriving for Orientation & Registration, complete your student loan requirements. Access the Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling Session online as well as review the Student Financial Aid website for additional funding opportunities.
Pre-Orientation Advising Preparation
Review the Academic Advising Preparation Web site prior to attending Orientation & Registration. This Web site will help you prepare for your academic advising appointment and course registration, which takes place during Orientation & Registration. Learn more about BGSU's academic programs and investigate academic majors and programs of interest to you.
Special Accommodations
Facilities used for Orientation & Registration are all barrier-free. Special accommodations for guests with disabilities will be provided upon request. Please notify us of your needs at least two weeks prior to your arrival. This can be done on-line as you place your reservation, by emailing oreg@bgsu.edu, or by phoning 419-372-0353.
Campus Employment - Register with WorkNetIf you are interested in working part-time (on campus or in the Bowling Green community), you can access WorkNet, BGSU's web-based job database. A new version of WorkNet will be available beginning late June via MYBGSU WEB PORTAL. Once the new WorkNet system is launched, a message will be sent to your BGSU email address with instructions to complete the WorkNet registration process so that you can begin viewing job vacancies. For details and additional information, stop by Student Employment Services on campus in 109 Saddlemire Student Services at Conklin North, or call 419-372-2865.
Financial Responsibility Agreement
All new and continuing BGSU students are required to annually complete this prior to course registration. You will find this agreement at MyBGSU under Financial Services.
Immunization Record/Health History Form
A Health Assessment Form is required for all entering students. A Health Assessment Form and important information concerning insurance, immunization records, and other pertinent health care issues will be sent via US mail to all admitted students. If you do not receive this important information from the Student Health Service, please contact the Health Center at 419-372-2271 and this material will be sent to you. The Health Assessment Form, immunization and exam forms, and insurance holder information should be return mailed in the envelope included in the packet or returned to the Student Health Service display table or Health Center building during Orientation & Registration.
