This check-list is a guide for many of the things you need to do and know prior to your Orientation & Registration visit.
Please keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive. Please carefully read all materials you receive from BGSU. If you

Before Orientation and Registration
BGSU Email & MyBGSU Accounts When admitted, you should have received a letter from the Office of Admissions with information about your BGSU email account
and your Web portal account (MyBGSU), and a temporary BGSU identification card including your BGSU 10-digit ID number. To complete most of the items below, you
will need to activate these accounts.
Online Placement Tests Placement Tests must be taken online prior to attending Orientation & Registration.
Transfer Connection program online (Transfer students only) You must complete this on-line orientation prior to your on-campus Transfer Registration date.
Student Financial Aid Prior to arriving for Orientation & Registration, complete your student loan requirements. Access the Federal Direct Loan
Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling Session online as well as review the Student Financial Aid website for additional funding opportunities.
Pre-Orientation Advising Preparation Review the Academic Advising Preparation Web site prior to attending Orientation & Registration. This Web site will help you prepare for your academic advising appointment
and course registration, which takes place during Orientation & Registration. Learn more about BGSU's academic programs and
investigate academic majors and programs of interest to you.
Special Accommodations Facilities used for Orientation & Registration are all barrier-free. Special accommodations for guests with disabilities will
be provided upon request. Please notify us of your needs at least two weeks prior to your arrival. This can be done on-line
as you place your reservation, by emailing oreg@bgsu.edu, or by phoning 419-372-0353.
Campus Employment - Register with WorkNetIf you are interested in working part-time (on campus or in the Bowling Green community), you can access WorkNet, BGSU's web-based
job database. A new version of WorkNet will be available beginning late June via MYBGSU WEB PORTAL. Once the new WorkNet system is launched, a message will be sent to your BGSU email address with instructions to complete
the WorkNet registration process so that you can begin viewing job vacancies. For details and additional information, stop by Student
Employment Services on campus in 109 Saddlemire Student Services at Conklin North, or call 419-372-2865.
Financial Responsibility Agreement All new and continuing BGSU students are required to annually complete this prior to course registration. You will find this
agreement at MyBGSU under Financial Services.
Immunization Record/Health History Form A Health Assessment Form is required for all entering students. A Health Assessment Form and important information concerning
insurance, immunization records, and other pertinent health care issues will be sent via US mail to all admitted students.
If you do not receive this important information from the Student Health Service, please contact the Health Center at 419-372-2271 and this material will be sent to you. The Health Assessment Form, immunization
and exam forms, and insurance holder information should be return mailed in the envelope included in the packet or returned
to the Student Health Service display table or Health Center building during Orientation & Registration.
What to Bring to Orientation and Registration
Temporary BGSU ID Card You will be asked to provide this number several times during Orientation & Registration before receiving your permanent BGSU
photo ID
Driver's License or other photo ID To obtain your BG 1 Card, you will need to present a valid Driver's License with photo, valid State ID with photo, Passport,
or Military ID.
Recent Transcript (Transfer students only) Bring a copy of your most recent academic transcript to assist your academic adviser as you develop an academic plan toward
graduation, and select your first semester of classes at BGSU.
Writing Utensils and notebook Throughout the program, you may need to complete forms for your college advising office and other University departments.
You may also want to write notes for yourself for asking questions later.
Comfortable Walking Shoes While most programs and events are conveniently located in buildings close to parking and overnight lodging, please be prepared
to do some walking.
Light Jacket or Sweatshirt Temperatures and climates in some buildings may vary slightly.
Umbrella Weather in Bowling Green often produces a shower or two; it's best to be prepared.
Recreation clothing The Student Recreation Center is open each evening during the two-day summer Orientation and Registration program.
