![]() BGSU's LGBT Safe Zone Programs
Request a Presentation Today!! Since homophobia and limited understanding negatively impacts LGBT individuals, efforts to make the LGBT population feel welcome
in any environment are needed. The OHIO Safe Zone project identifies a growing network of students, faculty, staff and community
members who are willing and prepared to provide support and information to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning
people. The Safe Zone project will launch into a full campaign in fall 2008. We hope to be able to offer the Safe Zone workshop to every department, student group, or program on campus that we can. In order to do so, we need your help in two ways. First, please spread the word that the Safe Zone program has been revised and is new and improved. We have new buttons and cards that are available to participants once they have attended the 2 hour workshop. If you have not attended the new Safe Zone, sign up today! In order to create the most widespread Safe Zone program that truly reaches all of the BGSU community, we need help facilitating the workshop. Please consider giving back to the community and assisting us in educating people about LGBT issues. To sign up to attend a Safe Zone workshop, please contact Annie Russell, and check back here for pre-assigned dates for future Safe Zone workshops. If you are interested in being a facilitator for the Safe Zone workshops, please contact Annie Russell. This is an opportunity to build your skills and provide a necessary service at the same time! |
