Interning, Practicum, and Volunteering at the Resource Center

 

The LGBT Resource Center is a part-time office, which means we need lots of help and are excited to have you be a part of our office!  There are three ways to get involved with the center: as an intern, practicum student, or volunteer. 

 

Internship: You can get class credit for your involvement with the resource center!  Simply get an internship form from the department that you would like to connect your center experience to (women’s studies, for example), bring that to the resource center, and get started.  Your resource center internship experience will be tailored with Annie to fit the needs of your education and interests, as well as the needs of the resource center.

 

Practicum: You can get class credit for your involvement with the resource center in a practical, job-based capacity.  Bring a practicum form from the department that you would like to connect your center experience to (college student personnel, for example) into the office to discuss the possibilities.  While an internship experience is hands-on, this is more directly hands-on and should be applicable to exploring job opportunities for your future.  The focus of a practicum student will be on student development and issues that surround working with college students. Your resource center practicum experience will be tailored with Annie to fit the needs of your growth and development, as well as the needs of the resource center.

 

Volunteer: Simply contact us and get started!  Volunteering at the resource center is designed to get you connected with the programs and services that we provide, while also helping the resource center grow and offer as much as we possibly can.  A volunteer experience requires no form and only requires your commitment!
