Are you commuting to BGSU this fall? If so, good news: you’re invited to participate in the Commuter Connection program!
The Commuter Connection (C2) program is an opportunity for first-year commuter students to get connected to other commuter students, faculty, and staff at BGSU. In fact, the Commuter Connection program recently received the “Outstanding Commuter Program” award from ACPA, a national association in support of college student success. As an incoming commuter student, you’re already invited to join the Commuter Connection program. We’ll begin by meeting during New Student Orientation in the summer, reconnect during Opening Weekend, and then provide great programs and events throughout the rest of the fall and spring semesters. The program is designed specifically for off-campus students to best acclimate to the BGSU community.
One of the key components of C2 is the role of the Commuter Assistant. Commuter Assistants are generally upper-class commuter students who provide support, advice, and guidance throughout the new commuters’ first year. As a team of volunteers, they are committed to enhancing the commuter experience at BGSU. Along with serving as mentors for first-year commuters, Commuter Assistants aid in C2 event planning and implementation.
