BG Citizens Reminded of Large Item Collection Changes
No May Collection, Next One in September

BOWLING GREEN—As announced earlier this year, the City of Bowling Green has changed its large item collection schedule.  As a result, citizens are reminded that there will not be a collection in May, 2013.

The previously announced program changes expand the program from one to two collections annually.  The first collection was in March.  The next one will be the week of September 16, 2013.

Citizens with large items are reminded that there are several options available for disposal:

  • If possible, place item in with weekly refuse collection.  Residents eligible for weekly collection are provided with a 96-gallon refuse container that can hold a substantial amount of refuse.
  • Utilize the Wood County Landfill.  Rates, hours, and other information are available by contacting the Landfill or on the web at: http://www.wcswmd.org/landfill.html.
  • Contact Public Works at 419-354-6227 to make arrangements for special large item removal.  There is a fee of $25 for the first item and $15 for each item thereafter.
Work with a private hauler to remove items or have a dumpster delivered.

Trash and refuse may not be placed in the public right of way.  If items are left in the public right-of-way, the property owner will be held accountable for the removal.  Failure to remove items may result in citation and/or the City causing the material to be removed and the property owner assessed.
