The BGSU cheerleaders practice over the summer break. Most practices are on the weekends and are held on the BGSU campus.
Generally, there will be 4 weekend practices leading up to cheerleading camp in early August.
All cheerleaders are required to move back to campus one week prior to classes starting for two-a-day practices.

The BGSU Cheerleaders practice four days a week, two - two and half hours a day. Practices are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:00PM - 5:30PM. Cheerleaders are also required to attend 2.5 hours of weight training sessions
and 2 hours of study tables a week Cheerleading at BGSU is an 18-20 hour a week commitment.

The BGSU cheerleaders perform at all home football and basketball games regardless of class breaks, holidays. The BGSU Cheerleaders
also perform at various other events on campus.

The largest cost to being of part of the BGSU cheerleadering program is time. Cheerleading at BGSU is very demanding.
The University Cheerleader budget and programs fundraiser pays for uniforms, practice clothes, shoes, equipment, warm-ups,
and travel expenses.
Sometimes squad members will elect to purchase additional items and pictures, however those purchases are generally not required.

Incoming freshman and BGSU transfer students are eligible to tryout at our April tryout for the next academic year. At the
time of tryouts the applicant must be able to present proof that they have been accepted to BGSU. At the completion of tryouts,
should the applicant make the team, the position on the team is contingent upon enrolling in classes by no later then August.
Should a student not be registered for classes by the start of Fall, their spot on the team will be forfeited.
