Ray Marvin Leadership Award

The Center for Leadership is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Ray Marvin Leadership Awards to recognize the leadership contributions of BGSU students. Award recipients will receive a monetary gift ($2500, $1500, or $1000) based on the assessment of their completed application, supporting materials, and finalist interview. The application deadline for these awards has ended. Award recipients will be announced at the Center for Leadership Awards reception in April. 


Award Selection Criteria: All BGSU undergraduate students were eligible to apply for this award. Candidates were asked to demonstrate, through their application, quality academic standards, participation in leadership education experiences, community service planning and participation, and project team membership and leadership. All applications were reviewed and ranked by a committee. Selected candidates then complete an in-person interview with the selection committee. The Ray Marvin Leadership Awards will recognize students for leadership development and contributions from August 22, 2011 to April 1, 2012.


Student Eligibility: To be eligible for a Ray Marvin Leadership Award, students needed to meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student at BGSU for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012
  • Demonstrate a minimum overall GPA of 2.5


Timeline:

  • Applications were available Monday, February 6, 2012 online at www.bgsu.edu/leadership
  • Application deadline was Friday, March 2, 2012 at 12:00pm (noon). Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Finalist interviews will be conducted March 19 – March 21, 2012.
  • Award recipients will be announces at the annual award ceremony on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
