Physicians
 Glenn Egelman, MD, FACP Director & Physician-In-Chief Dr. Egelman has been the the Director of the Student Health Service since 2004. He came to BGSU from Skidmore College in New
York State where he was the Director of Health Services. Before that, Dr. Egelman held clinical and teaching positions at
SUNY Stony Brook and the University of Rochester, also in New York . He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University
and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and is board certified in internal medicine. His
interests include primary care medicine, the biopsychosocial model of health care, which recognizes the interplay of health
and all aspects of one's life, travel medicine and healthcare management. Dr. Egelman has held several leadership positions
in the American College Health Association and the New York State College Health Association. He is a Fellow of the American
College of Physicians, and a member of the American College of Physician Executives and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
He holds faculty appointments as an adjunct Associate Professor of Public Health and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine.
According to the Consumers' Research Council of America, Dr. Egelman is one of America's Top Physicians. Dr. Egelman enjoys
travel and spending time with family, friends and his dog.
 Zhanna Brant, MD Dr. Brant has been with the Student Health Service since 1984. She graduated from medical school in Odesse, former USSR. She
completed her residency in internal medicine and cardiology, and had a private practice. After her immigration to the United
States, she completed her residency in family practice at Flower Memorial Hospital in Toledo.
 Penny Mullins, MD Dr. Mullins is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she received a B.A. in Women's Studies, a B.S. in Biology and
her M.D. degree. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She started
her career as a physician with Community Health Services in Fremont, OH. After six years working as an emergency department
staff physician, she returned to Community Health Services. In addition, she has recently worked as an occupational medicine
physician.
 Jeffrey Noftz, MD Dr. Noftz joined the Student Health Service in 2006. He is a graduate of BGSU, where he studied Physical Therapy. He worked
as a clinical researcher, educator and senior clinician in Sports Medicine at Sports Care Medical College of Ohio (MCO) until
the late 1990s, when he decided to attend medical school. After graduating from MCO, Dr. Noftz completed an accelerated training
program in Family Medicine and was Chief Resident in 2002. He started his career as the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine
in the Departments of Orthopedics and Family Medicine at MCO. Since 2004 he has been in private practice here in Bowling
Green, has served as the Team Physician for the BGSU Sports Medicine program and has been an Assistant Professor with the
School of Allied Health at the University of Toledo.
 Teresita T. Domini, MD Dr. Domini has been a staff physician at the Student Health Service since 1982. She earned her medical degree in 1970 from
the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She completed her family practice residency at Mercy Hospital in Toledo
from 1971 until 1974.
Nurse Practitioners
 Barbara Hoffman, MSN, CNP Ms. Hoffman is Interim Associate Director for Clinical & Educational Services of the Student Health Service. She earned her
bachelor's degree in nursing at Capital University and her masters in nursing at Case Western Reserve University. She is
a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Barb has been at the University since 1985.
She offers expertise in women's health, eating disorders and sexual assault.
 Elayne Jacoby, MSN, CNP Ms. Jacoby is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She earned her master's degree in psychology at the University of Houston
and in Nursing at the Medical College of Ohio. She joined the Student Health Service in 1985. She is interested in the health
needs of women from a psychological as well as a physical perspective. She has a particular interest in students with eating
disorders.
 Nancy Martin, MSN, CNP Ms. Martin is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from BGSU in 1989 and her
master's degree in nursing from the Medical College of Ohio in 1998. She joined the Student Health Service in 2006.
 Joanne Navin, MSN, CNP Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Ms Navin has been with the Student Health Service since 1983. She earned her bachelor's
from BGSU and her master's degree in nursing from the Medical College of Ohio. She has experience in community health, as
a school nurse and as a nursing instructor.
 Sue Perkins, MSN, CNP Ms. Perkins is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has worked at the Student Health Service since 1986 and provides
general medical care as well as women's health care. She is a graduate of Wayne State University with a master's in nursing.
Nursing Staff
 Betty DeSilvio, BSN, RNC Ms. DeSilvio is a BGSU graduate and has worked at the Student Health Service since 1989. She is certified in College Health
Nursing. Betty is a CPR instructor, a Board Member of Ohio College Health Association and on the Alumni Advisory Board for
the BGSU College of Health and Human Services.
 Deb Martin, RN Ms. Martin has worked at the SHS since 2005. Before that she was a hospital staff nurse for 24 years, most recently at Wood
County Hospital for 15 years. Deb enjoys college health nursing, especially interacting with the students, and feels privileged
to be a part of their health care and education.
 Mary Mason, MA Ms. Mason has been with the SHS since 2007 and has been a Medical Assistant since 1998. She received her training from the
Professional Skills Institute in Toledo and previously worked at the University Medical Center. Mary also actively serves
in the Naval Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman.
 Cynthia Hesterman, LPN Ms. Hesterman has been with the SHS since 2007. She received her education from Northwest State in Archbold and has been licensed
through the Ohio Board of Nursing since 1982. Cindy previously worked at the Henry County Family Physicians Office, the Archbold
Medical Group and The Wauseon Clinic.
 Jose B. Ortega, MA Mr. Ortega has worked at BGSU since 1990. Jose enjoys working with students and can be frequently found volunteering at campus
events.
 Glenna Rufo, BSN, RNC Ms. Rufo has been at the Student Health Service since 1987. Besides her employment on campus, she worked for 33 years as an
RN at St. Charles Hospital in the Emergency Center and Recovery Room. She earned her bachelors from BGSU and is certified
as a College Health Nurse. She is certified to teach CPR and is an ACLS provider.
 Betty Whiteman, RN Ms. Whiteman has worked at BGSU's Student Health Service since 1995. She has over twenty years of experience in nursing.
Laboratory Staff
 Marilyn Mackay, MT (ASCP) SH Laboratory Coordinator
Marilyn Mackay has been the coordinator of the Student Health Service laboratory since 1989. She also coordinates the safety
program and maintains OSHA records. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University (when they were the Hurons!) with a degree
in Medical Technology.
 Susan Marlowe, MT (ASCP) SM
Go Falcons! Susan Marlowe has not only been an employee of BGSU since 1987, but also an alumna ('72) and a mother of a recent
BGSU graduate. After graduation from the medical technology program here at BGSU, she trained and worked 13 years as a bench
technologist at the Toledo Hospital.
 Carole Bechstein, MT (ASCP)
Carole has been with the Student Health Service since 1995. She is also a graduate of BGSU, earning a Bachelor of Science
degree in Medical Technology.
