Go Greek Team (GGT)
The Go Greek Team consists of 10 student representatives spanning all four councils. Their main role is to promote Greek Life
at orientation during the summer by interacting with incoming students and their parents educating them on the Greek community
at BGSU. This team of students also conducts presentations for the First Year Success Series and represents the office at
Preview Days and Family Weekend display tables. In addition, the team is active at the beginning of the fall semester promoting
Greek life to all students.
All members must attend training sessions in the spring semester and must be available to work over the summer. Applications
are available at the end of November/beginning of December and all applicants must have a 2.50 GPA. GGT members receive free
housing over the summer and a stipend with the opportunity to earn more money through an incentive program. The Go Greek Team
meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7pm.
New Member Greek Council (NMGC)
The New Member Greek Council was designed to give new members of the Greek community at Bowling Green an opportunity to experience
leadership, operations, and brotherhood/sisterhood at the council level. This organization functions as a "junior council",
in such that it is modeled after the other four Greek councils. It allows new members of the Greek community to govern themselves,
while also coming together to provide programming for their fellow new members. The council is comprised of one delegate from
each organization, and is advised by two student leaders of the Greek community. The main program that this council offers
is a New Member Greek Week in October and March. This activity runs Monday-Thursday and incorporates fun-filled activities
for new members to engage in. This will give all the new members of the community a chance to get to know each other, learn
about other Greek groups, compete for points, and most importantly, have fun.
Greek Scholarship Board
The Scholarship Board is responsible for meeting with chapters who fall below the Greek minimum GPA requirement each semester
and creating educational sanctions and programs in order to help these chapters increase their GPA.
The Chair of the board is responsible for scheduling the hearings and developing the programming sessions. He/she chairs each
hearing and guides the rest of the board in developing education and appropriate sanctions.
The board is comprised of one representative from each council and meets on Tuesdays at 7pm as needed.
Greek Housing Board
The role of the Greek Housing Board is to meet with chapters that may be in violation of the Greek Housing Board and/or to
make recommendations in terms of housing allocation.
There are six undergraduate committee members who are selected by the four governing councils. There will be two members
appointed by IFC, two by Panhel, one by NPHC and one by IGC. The six board members will elect a chair of the board. Each
individual must have a 2.50 GPA. The Housing Board meets on Tuesday at 7pm. at least once a month or as needed.
Conduct Board
The Council Conduct Board exists to provide a peer level hearing board for any violation of University rules and regulations,
Residence Life and Greek Affairs policies, and the council constitution and by-laws. The Board is an educational hearing board
composed of members of the Greek community recognized at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) for the purpose of maintaining
unity, harmony, and community within Greek life at BGSU.
The Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and the Independent Greek Council have their own Conduct Board processes. These
boards meet as needed on Tuesdays at 7pm.
Greek Leadership Team (GLT)
True leadership comes from experience. As a member of Greek life, you’ll find tremendous opportunities that will give you
the experience to become an effective leader. Fraternities and sororities are self-governing, giving members numerous leadership
possibilities. Greek life offers leadership training programs campus wide and through individual chapters.
Members of the Greek Leadership Team Shall:
- Maintain a cumulative 2.80 grade point average.
- NOT serve as a chapter president or a council executive officer.
- Attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm (BTSU 306).
- Attend the GLT transition meeting in the fall semester of their selection.
- Participate in the GLT Summer Retreat the weekend before the beginning of the fall semester.
- Plan, develop the curriculum for, and implement, and assess Greek-A-Palooza (GAP) in the fall and spring semesters.
- Plan, develop the curriculum for, and implement Emerging Leaders (EL) and any Emerging Leaders follow-up programs.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of Leadership Academy in October 2009.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of the August and January Leadership Retreats.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of officer training and transition workshops for chapters and councils at the
end of each semester.
- Prepare transition materials to pass on to future members of GLT.
- Attend all GLT educational programs (EL, GAP, August and January Leadership Retreats).
- Fulfill any other responsibilities designed by GLT or as necessary.
Honorary Organizations
Order of Omega
Order of Omega is a National Greek Honor Society. Members must have a 2.92 cumulative GPA, have Junior or Senior status, and
have contributed greatly to the BGSU community and the Bowling Green community. Student members participate in planning activities
for the Greek community such as “Go Green with the Greeks” and work with the Office of Greek Affairs to provide programming
for Juniors and Seniors.

The executive board meets once or twice per month. They lead an initiation ceremony once per semester. General members are
also expected to meet approximately once per month and attend the initiation ceremony. New members are accepted each semester.
You must apply to be a member. Applications are typically due mid to late October and mid to late March. It is $85 to join
this organization.
Gamma Sigma Alpha
Gamma Sigma Alpha, National Greek Academic Honor Society, was founded to promote intellectual interaction between Greek students
and the academic community. The purpose of the Society is to promote the advancement of education among Greeks; to instill
a greater spirit of cooperation among Greek students and organizations and to encourage excellence in scholarship.

Only fraternity and sorority members who hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) of junior
or senior status, or a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in any semester during their junior or senior year, are eligible.
The one-time membership fee is $50. Many chapters and/or councils cover this fee for their members as an academic incentive
packages for members who perform well academically. New members applications are due mid-October and mid-February. Members
are expected to attend general meetings approximately once a month, semesterly initiation ceremonies, and periodic organizational
events.
