Chapter Awards/Recognition

BGSU Greek Chapter Awards/Recognition

The following awards are determined based on information contained on the Greek Reports produced at the end of each semester.  The Philanthropy Cup and All-Sports Championship are determined based on points tabulated by the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council.

ACHIEVEMENT IN ACADEMICS

  • Fraternity with highest semester grade point average (spring and fall)
  • Sorority with the highest semester grade point average (spring and fall)
  • All chapters with a semester grade point average above the all-undergraduate grade point average during both the spring and fall semesters.

ACHIEVEMENT IN COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • Hollis A. Moore Award for the fraternity with the most community services hours per member during the calendar year.
  • Hollis A. Moore Award for the sorority with the most community service hours per member during the calendar year.
  • All chapters averaging at least 30 community service hours per member during the calendar year.

ACHIEVEMENT IN PHILANTHROPY

  • Fraternity with the most dollars raised per member during the calendar year.
  • Sorority with the most dollars raised per member during the calendar year.
  • All chapters averaging at least $60 raised per member for charity during the calendar year.
  • The Philanthropy Cup was reinstated to encourage attendance at chapter philanthropies. View the guidelines for the Philanthropy Cup along with the point sheet to be submitted after an event.

ACHIEVEMENT IN CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT

  • Fraternity with the highest percentage of members involved in another registered student organization (non-Greek) during the calendar year.
  • Sorority with the highest percentage of members involved in another registered student organization (non-Greek) during the calendar year.
  • All chapters with at least 70 percent of its members involved in another registered student organization (non-Greek).

ACHIEVEMENT IN MEMBERSHIP GROWTH/RETENTION

  • Fraternity with the greatest improvement in chapter size (percentage) from the previous year.
  • Sorority with the greatest improvement in chapter size (percentage) from the previous year.
  • All Panhellenic chapters at total (85).
  • All Interfraternity chapters with at least 60 members.
  • All NPHC chapters with at least 16 members.
  • All Greek Independent Board chapters with at least 16 members.

ACHIEVEMENT IN ATHLETICS

  • Fraternity All-Sports Champion awarded to the fraternity with the most points in intramural competition during the calendar year (points allocated based on participation, games won, championships, and good conduct during competition).
  • Sorority All-Sports Champion awarded to the fraternity with the most points in intramural competition during the calendar year (points allocated based on participation, games won, championships, and good conduct during competition).
