Greek Affairs Announces a Hazing Hotline for Anonymously Reporting Hazing 24 hours/day

Greek Affairs announced that beginning Spring 2005, a Hazing Hotline is being established to allow anyone to report allegations of hazing 24 hours a day anonymously. The 24 hour number is 419.-409.0731. The phone is staffed by Dr. Ron Binder, Director of Greek Affairs. "We wanted to establish a way for anyone to report allegations of hazing anonymously, thus increasing our chances of hearing about hazing when it begins, rather than letting any questionable behavior get out of hand," said Binder. At no time will anyone be asked to identify themselves. "This has been successful at other schools in preventing hazing and letting staff know when hazing first occurs, so we thought it was a good move for BGSU," commented Binder.

Gay & Greek Group Formed

The BGSU Greek Community recently formed a Gay & Greek Group for those fraternity and sorority members who are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and allies, to come together to discuss issues. The meetings are held every other Tuesday at 10 p.m. in Room 306, Union (see the Greek Calendar for more specifics).

For more information, contact Dr. Ron Binder, Director of Greek Affairs at rbinder@bgsu.edu.
