Travel
| When a registered student organization desires to participate in, or sponsors an event that occurs off the campus, and participation requires vehicle use, the University is committed to promoting the safety of all participants. The Student Organization Travel policy is outlined in the University Student Handbook and this policy is in effect whenever members of registered student organizations travel as official or designated representatives of the University, or participate in an organization-sponsored event where the University is officially represents, more than 35-miles outside of Bowling Green and/or outside the state of Ohio. |

All travel further more than 35-miles from campus, one-way, or that is outside of the state of Ohio must be registered. Michigan locations that are within 35-miles must be registered.
Travel must be registered at least two-weeks in advance. To register your trip, please submit the Trip Registration Form and a medical and liability form for all participants. Sports Clubs should register their travel with the Sports Club Program. Social fraternities and sororities should register their travel with Fraternity & Sorority Life. All other student organizations should register their travel with the Office of Campus Activities. Each trip must have a trip coordinator; this person must be participating in the trip and will serve as the point-person for the trip. He or she will be the contact person for the Office of Campus Activities before and during the trip. Trip coordinator must complete a trip coordinator training each year in the Office of Campus Activities. To schedule a Trip Coordinator training, please contact the Office of Campus Activities. Medical and liability forms are valid from August-August and need only be submitted once during that time. Forms may be submitted without travel being scheduled. If organizations have an all-group meeting at the beginning of the year, it is advisable to have all members complete their forms at that meeting, even if travel is not scheduled until the Spring. Trip registration is significantly easier if your organization already has medical and liability forms on file! If the organization is travelling in a rental vehicle or a university-owned vehicle, each driver must complete a Motor Vehicle Record Statement, sometimes called a driver verification form, PRIOR to travel. Approval is valid for one year. Organizations do not need to submit the form if taking personal vehicles. Travel by personal vehicles is highly discouraged as the university has no knowledge of the care and upkeep of the vehicle and individuals are not covered by University Vehicular Insurance when travelling in a personal vehicle. | ||||||||||
