Leadership Development Workshop Schedule – Spring 2010
The following workshops and special events are offered to all BGSU students who are interested in advancing their leadership development. To assist us in preparing for group sizes, please pre-register for the workshops you are attending. All workshops are eligible for Leadership Certificate Program Requirements.

Charting Your Leadership Journey: The BGSU Leadership Certificate Program
Description: Employers are looking for demonstrated leadership and team development experiences. The BGSU Leadership Certificate
Program (LCP) provides a guide for BGSU student to advance and demonstrate their leadership and team experiences. This workshop
will introduce participants to the benefits of the LCP and the program requirements.

Project and Event Management for Student Leaders

Description: Student leadership is often measured by one's ability to manage and coordinate projects and events. The BGSU Leadership Certificate
Program is designed to encourage and document project team membership and leadership. This workshop will offer key elements

The Office of Campus Activities is excited to partner with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and promoting the following workshops. As part of the requirements for the Leadership Certificate Program, participating students are asked to attend educational opportunities that highlight the importance of recruiting and managing diverse teams. Leadership and Life Balance

Description: Creating an organizational culture that promotes health and wellness starts with the leader. During this workshop you will
assess your individual stress levels and focus on wellness of body, mind, and spirit. Additionally, you will learn cognitive
restructuring techniques and create healthy boundaries to reduce stress and enjoy life. Finally, relax and unwind using a
blend of progressive muscle relaxation, visualization, yoga, and Tai Chi. Techniques you learn during this session will provide
you with the tools and knowledge to role-model healthy and balanced living in your organization.

Effective Decision Making: Don’t let your bad decisions get you on the news!

Description: When reading the front page of the daily newspaper, you see examples of poor decisions that destroy the reputations of leaders,
sports and social icons. Of course, we tend to say "I wouldn't be that dumb and make that type of decision!" What were the
decision making processes which lead these intelligent leaders astray? During this workshop, we will take a look at your own
decision making process and beliefs that could drive you to make poor decisions that could negatively impact your life. You
will hear stories from four intelligent students, who made poor decisions, but were able to turn their situations around.
