What is Parent & Family Association

Who are we?
The Bowling Green State University Falcon Parent and Family Association provides involvement opportunities for parents and family members of BGSU students to enhance the quality of student life at BGSU. The Association is governed by a volunteer Executive Committee and funded exclusively from contributions and membership fees as outlined below.

What do we do?
1. Enhance and facilitate communication between BGSU and family members related to topics of interest and concern to families and students.
2. Promote and sponsor programs and services that meet the needs of family members and students.
3. Through the Success Awards, the Association financially supports programs that enhance and improve the retention and success of BGSU students.

How can you get involved?
General membership in the Association is free for family member of a BGSU student. The two advanced levels of membership allow for greater involvement within the Association and other perks.

Falcon Family Spotlight
Donna and Marty Caskey, New Carlisle, OH.  Our daughter is a sophomore majoring in Psychology.

How did you feel about your student's decision to attend BGSU?
We were pleased she was considering BGSU, even more so after visiting the campus and when she was accepted into the summer 2010 GeoJourney and
Honors programs. Our primary goal was for her to be happy and comfortable with her college choice. She immediately liked the "feel" of BGSU. We were impressed that so many students went out of their way to speak to us or stopped to give us directions when we visited on Presidents Day 2010. We didn't find that at the other colleges we visited.

What have you appreciated most about your involvement in the Family Association?
The Family Association has an excellent communications plan. They are on Facebook and regularly send out informative e-mails. Many times we receive information at the same time our daughter. It's great to be in the know. While she is very conscientious about keeping us in the loop, when she was traveling with GeoJourney she was not able to do that. We were always kept up to date with pertinent information through the Family Association. It's also nice to know that when we e-mail anyone at BGSU, we get an answer promptly.
