Topic: Should We All Just Get Along: Coping with Racism and Prejudice
Participants will understand the differences between racism and prejudice, the ramifications and consequences of racism/prejudice environmentally and individually, learn ways to be a more effective ally, and learn effective coping strategies following racist/prejudice encounters or experiences. (ZIGGY POINTS !!)

Topic: Mindfulness and Acceptance Episode 1: Become Aware You Will
Participants will learn about the nature of mindfulness—which involves attending to our current sensory experiences, thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. The workshop will present participants with several strategies to enhance their experience of mindfulness. Finally, benefits of practicing mindfulness will be discussed.

Topic: Mindfulness and Acceptance Episode 2: Master Your Mind You Must
Participants will learn how to assume a nonjudgmental “observer” role in attending to and accepting their present experiences—and how to free themselves from excessively focusing on the past and the future. The session will include further discussion of benefits associated with practicing mindfulness.

Topic: Getting Off the Emotional Rollercoaster
Our emotions are an important part of how we function, and with all our ups and downs, it can sometimes feel as though our emotions take over. This workshop will help participants better understand, accept, and/or change emotions.

Participants will learn to identify and avoid common relationship traps, how to practice effective communication skills, and increase their understanding of how to get what they want from their relationships.
