PRAXIS
PURPOSE
The PRAXIS series is used to obtain licensure or admission to teacher education programs. These tests are required by many
state departments of education and are used by various colleges and universities to measure the academic achievement and proficiency
of individuals entering or completing teacher preparation programs. If you are unsure which of these you require please visit

LOCATION
The PRAXIS is held in the Math & Science Building with parking readily accessible. Students should arrive no later than 7:30
to register.
ELIGIBLE TEST TAKERS
Anyone looking to receive admission to a teacher education program or requesting licensure.
MATERIALS NEEDED
You will need to bring your test center admission ticket, some sharpened soft-lead (No. 2) pencils with erasers, and an acceptable
form of identification.

HOW TO REGISTER
To register by mail you must obtain a copy of the printed Registration Bulletin. Your completed registration form should
be returned in the preaddressed enveloped provided in the Bulletin. Registration is available via the interned using the following
link On-line Registration. You may also register via the telephone by calling 1-800-772-9476 however there is an additional $25 phone registration
fee.
TEST LENGTH
Depending on the test, the examination will normally last either 1 or 2 hours per session.

SCORE REPORTING
Scores for The Praxis Series are mailed out four to six weeks following the test date. In order to keep scores confidential,
they will not be given to anyone by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
