PURPOSE The ACT-Residual test is used for admission to Bowling Green State University only. It is designed for those who missed the
ACT National test dates, or those who would like to retain a higher score for scholarship purposes. Scores cannot be transferred
to any other institutions.
TESTING TIMES The ACT-Residual Test is administered each week. During the fall of 2008, ACT Residual exams can be scheduled between 8:00
am - 5:00 pm on any Wednesday (except October 15, 2008). Please contact the National Test Center at 419-372-7533 to schedule
an appointment. The only exception to this schedule will be during the period of contract renewal, when we are required to
return all ACT test materials in exchange for new ones. This usually occurs during the last week of October and the first
week of November. During these two weeks we will not schedule ACT Residual Testing.
LOCATION The ACT-Residual is held in the Counseling Center, 121 Saddlemire Student Services at Conklin Building.
ELIGIBLE TEST TAKERS Anyone wishing to apply to BGSU is eligible to take the test. If you have previously taken the ACT-Residual within 60 days,
you may not take it again for 60 days. If your test administrations are less than 60 days apart, the test will not be scored,
nor will your test fee be refunded.
MATERIALS NEEDED You will need to bring some sharpened soft-lead (No. 2) pencils with erasers, a calculator if you wish to use one, and an
acceptable form of identification. (A valid driver's license, current student ID, recent published photo, school letter or
transcript and notarized statement with photo are acceptable.)
COSTS The ACT-Residual costs $45.00 payable by check, cash (exact amount only) or money order. Credit cards are not accepted. Prices
are subject to change after the contract renewal period.
HOW TO REGISTER You may register for the ACT by calling the Test Center at 419-372-7533 between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
TEST LENGTH The examination takes about 3 hours and consists of four parts: English (45 minuets), Mathematics (60 minutes), Reading (35
minutes) and Science Reasoning (35 minutes). There is usually 10 minute break after the Mathematics test.

about preparatory classes can be obtained by calling the Bowling Green State University Continuing Education Department at
419-372-8181.
SCORE REPORTING: Scores are typically reported to the admissions office within 2 business days of testing.

MISCELLANEOUS Calculators are allowed but not necessary. You may use certain kinds of calculators on the ACT Mathematics Test only, but
you are not required to do so. All problems on the Mathematics Test can be solved without a calculator. Students wishing to
use a calculator are required to bring their own non-programmable, non-printing calculator.
