Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship (Non-Renewable) The Center sponsors a scholarship competition each year, based on your contributions toward the vision that Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. outlined for the U.S. Awards are based on a short written essay, academic achievement, and your contributions to
improve racial and ethnic relations. Only continuing BGSU students with at least 15 credit hours completed at BGSU and a 3.0
cumulative grade point average are eligible to apply. For an application, contact the Center, the Student Financial Aid Office
or click on the scholarship name above to download application. The application deadline is January 5.
Diversity Educators Room Scholarship (Renewable) The diversity education room scholarships cover the full cost of a standard double room and are renewable for 4 years. The
scholarships are awarded to eight incoming freshmen recipients of the University Tuition Scholarship For Underrepresented Students who have a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school grade point average, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills,
and a desire to hold a leadership position that focuses on the appreciation and understanding of diversity in the residence
halls. Students awarded the diversity education room scholarships are required to:
- Reside on campus for eight consecutive fall and spring semesters for a maximum of four years
- Attend a weekly Diversity Education Course for training and skill building as a facilitator
- Act as a diversity leader and facilitator in the residence halls
- Commit 30 hours per semester to residence hall diversity training and activities
- Meet minimum GPA eligibility requirements for renewal

Additional BGSU Multicultural Scholarships To search for additional multicultural scholarships, visit the Student Financial Aid Office scholarship Web site. Read the criteria carefully because many of the multicultural scholarships encourage and/or require student involvement in
multicultural organizations and are not necessarily based on ethnic or racial group membership.
Continuing BGSU students are encouraged to visit the Center for Multicultural and Academic Initiatives' Community on MYBGSU
