Helpful Course - UNIV 331: Career Implementation |

This two-credit job course for juniors or seniors is designed to help them acquire, integrate, and apply the knowledge, skills,
and competencies required to conduct an effective job search process. Students who actively participate in and complete this
course will learn to:

Identify their motivation, personality style, skills, values, and interests.

Create high quality, targeted resumes and cover letters.

Use various strategies for job and graduate school searches.

Increase their skills and confidence in employment interviewing through a mock interview project by participating in telephone
and face-to-face interviews and reviewing their responses and performance in three videotaped interviews.

Create portfolios demonstrating skill areas, work philosophy, interests, and career goals.

Analyze current issues and factors impacting the job market and occupations.

Describe transition issues recent college graduates face.
Class activities include: self-selected experiences, cover letter and resume assignments, a mock interview project, professional
portfolio, and career action plan. Through self-selected learning activities, students are intentional about learning ways
to maximize their employment options and outcomes of their college education.
