Navigate your own job search process by learning solid techniques, which includes establishing goals, priorities and milestones to identify specific career outcomes. This session will discuss the key components to becoming a successful job hunter by addressing the following topics:

  • Interest, skills and value self appraisal
  • Occupational exploration and employer research
  • Networking
  • Portfolio development
  • Use of electronic resources/professional organizations
  • Criteria for evaluating job offers

Workplace Success: Preparing to Start Internship or Co-op Assignments
An opportunity for students who have obtained internships and/or cooperative education placements to gain successful tips on the following topics:

  • Dos and Don'ts of Internships/Co-ops
  • Workplace Professionalism
  • Setting Internship/Co-op Goals
  • Strategies for Effective Performance

This is a required workshop of all students who have secured an internship or cooperative education assignments for the Spring 2008 or Summer 2008 semester (s).
