On-Campus Interviewing

Every fall and spring semester, employers from businesses; school systems; and government, non-profit, and human services agencies recruit at the university to hire students for internships, co-ops, career-related positions, and training programs. Bowling Green State University students and academic programs are highly regarded, attracting more than 450 employers to campus annually to view the calendar of employers visiting campus and schedule on-campus interviews log-in to WorkNet.

At the Career Center, we take the business of on-campus interviewing very seriously and value greatly the strong relationships fostered with recruiters over the years.  Signing up for an on-campus interview is a commitment that is expected to be upheld.

Interviews can only be cancelled through WorkNet five business days prior to the interview date, unless stated otherwise. For emergency cancellations, please notify the Career Center at 419-372-2356.  You will be asked the reason of your cancellation, along with the name of the organization and the time of your scheduled interview.

Interview Cancellation and No Show Policy

Due to the professional nature of on-campus interviews, the following policy is enforced when a candidate fails to show up for a scheduled interview or mock interview.

First Occurrence:  Your account on WorkNet will be immediately deactivated whenever you fail to keep an interview appointment.  You will be unable to perform job searches, be included in resume referrals, and schedule future on-campus interviews on WorkNet.  Additionally, all previously scheduled interviews will be suspended until your account is reactivated by a Career Center counselor.

Upon receiving an e-mail "no-show notification" from the Career Center, you must contact us at (419-372-2356) to schedule an appointment with a Career Center counselor.  To this appointment, you are expected to bring a written letter of apology, addressed to the organization's recruiter, along with a stamped, addressed envelope.  After reviewing this letter, the Career Center can reactivate your account on WorkNet.

Multiple Occurrences: The Career Center has the right to suspend your account on WorkNet for a month, semester, or indefinitely.  The length of the suspension will be determined by the Career Center based on the number of occurrences.

Cancellation of Classes:  Even when classes have been cancelled, the Career Center is open for business!  Unless we notify you personally by telephone or e-mail, you can safely assume that your scheduled on-campus interview will go on as scheduled.  If there is a career event scheduled, it will also go on as planned.

The Career Center reserves the right to modify the terms and enforcement of this Policy at any time.
