BOWEN-THOMPSON STUDENT UNION BALLROOM

Last summer, the BGSU's Career Center moved to Conklin North.  This move will impact recruiting at the Career Center for several years.  With only five recruiting rooms in our new facility, space will be at a premium.

To meet the needs of accounting firms, and other organizations that have multiple on-campus interviewing schedules, we are offering two recruiting events:

1. Fall EXPO 2008 Job & Internship Fair
   October 2 & 3, 2008
   Perry Field House 
2. Accounting Interview Day
   October 15, 2008
   Bowen-Thompson Student Union

The Accounting Interview Day venue will allow us to host accounting firms on one day and in one location.  Your interview schedule options will remain the same as with regular on-campus recruiting interview visits, allowing you to use WorkNet (NACElink) to set up your pre-select interviews or open interview schedules.  The primary difference is the interview location, which will be the Bowen Thompson Student Union Ballroom.  The Ballroom is large enough to accommodate multiple interviewers and your greeters.  We strongly recommend this option if you need four or more interview schedules and are unable to attend the Fall EXPO 2008 Job & Internship Fair.

Faculty and other college representatives will be available to join you during lunch.  In planning for Interview Day, we consulted with the accounting faculty to allow students to be excused from classes for their interviews.
 

Registration for Accounting Day
Please submit the on-line On-Campus Recruiting Request Form by September 24, 2008.  Enter October 15 in the Request Date field on the form. Registrations will be accepted after September 24 on a space-available basis and for open interview schedules only.

Directions & Parking Instructions 
From Detroit Metropolitan Airport:  Take I-94 West to I-275 South to I-75 South to Bowling Green Exit 181 (1 hour 45 minutes).
From Toledo Airport:  Take Route 2 East to I-475 East to I-75 South to Bowling Green Exit 181 (40 minutes).
From Ohio Turnpike:  Take Exit 64 off Interstate 80/90 to I-75 South to Bowling Green Exit 181 (30 minutes).
From Columbus Airport:  Take I-670 East to I-270 North to I-71 North to US 36/OH 37 West (Exit 131).  Then US 36/OH37 West to US 23 North to Route 15 West to I-75 North to Bowling Green Exit 181 (2 hours 30 minutes).

Directions to Bowen Thompson Student Union Ballroom:  Turn left (west) off Exit 181 onto East Wooster Street.  Follow East Wooster Street to the fourth traffic light.  Turn right (north) on Thurstin Avenue.  The entrance to the Union is on the right just past the crosswalk intersection stop sign.  

Parking:  To park in the Student Union parking lot there is a $8 full-day parking fee.  To park free of charge, go to the Visitor's Information Booth, located at the entrance of the university at the first traffic light on Alumni Drive by the football stadium.  A shuttle arrives every ten minutes and will take you to the union.

Hotel Accommodations
For employers traveling from out of town who wish to stay in the City of Bowling Green, here are some local places to stay.  These hotels are located close to campus.  Ask for a Recruiter Corporate Rate when booking.  The Career Center neither endorses a particular establishment nor negotiates accommodation rates. Rates have been confirmed by the hotels but are subject to change based on availability.  It is advisable to book your rooms early for the most suitable accommodations.
