With competition increasing for employers to hire qualified candidates, one recruiting strategy that always works best: Personal
Interaction. For college recruiting, this means employers need to participate in more on campus activities such as career
fairs, on-campus interviews, student organization events, involvement in the Career Center's sponsored employer panels, mock
interviews and branding-focused activities. Nothing is more important to an organization's ability to compete successfully
than establishing and maintaining an effective brand. Like any good college relations and recruiting program, branding requires
time, money, and effort, and is planned and methodical. Organizations that are best positioned to compete on campus for future
graduates are those that have established their brand. These are also organizations that work to maintain their brand by
maintaining ties with campuses even when their recruiting needs are down.

Get Involved! As an employer, you can play an integral role in helping students develop the appropriate job search and interviewing skills
while increasing visibility on-campus, developing relationships with faculty and staff, and interacting with prospective candidates
by becoming involved in our College Relations Events (employer panels, mock interviews, etc.).
Job & Internship Fairs Our fairs give students the opportunity to connect face to face with potential employers, providing an opportunity for representatives
from national, regional and local organizations, government agencies, and school districts to meet and recruit BGSU students
for full-time, internships, cooperative education, summer and part-time positions. Our Career Center holds multiple job and internship fairs throughout the academic year, allowing employers to attend our optional next day interview day or return at a later date through on-campus recruiting. Prior to each fair, the Career Center distributes over 7,000 copies of the fair's newspaper supplement informing students
who to target for the fair. The supplements are dispersed all across campus to academic departments and students and feature
articles on today's job market for college graduates, employer/school district profiles, and descriptions of opportunities.
You can promote your organization/school district even more by advertising in the supplements utilizing an effective branding resource.
