In this section, you will find links to professional associations for various career fields, which contain a wealth of information
for students seeking career information and employment opportunities. It is terrific idea to become involved in the student-affiliate
chapter of the association for your field and to continue your membership after you graduate. According to a study conducted
for the American Society of Association Executives by the Hudson Institute, seven out of ten Americans belong to at least
one association. Professional associations serve their members in wide variety of ways including:
- Educating their members and the public about important trends and issues
- Developing and disseminating information about career options within the field
- Providing an employment clearinghouse service for members
- Establishing forums for the exchange of information and ideas
- Offering continuing education and professional development courses
- Establishing professional standards and codes of conduct
