Information for Progress Reporting

 


Students have the benefit of Progress Reporting from two initiatives:  successNET and Mid-Term Grading

This early feedback to students is critical to student success.

  • Connects students to the course
  • Offers time for students to adjust their approach to the coursework
  • Provides advisors and faculty members with early progress indicators
  • Allows time for intrusive interventions to be effective

Reporting rosters will be available for all students, in all classes and it is highly recommended that instructors utilize this process in order to have the highest impact on student success.

successNET

Academic performance is one of the best indicators of student success. Bowling Green State University hosts the successNET system, powered by Starfish Retention Solutions. This software system is provided to undergraduate students, faculty and staff of the BGSU community as the successor to the former Early Alert system. It works within MyBGSU to generate indicator notifications and kudos for students based on:

  • Academic performance
  • Preparedness for class
  • Attendance
  • Classroom behavior
  • Quiz and test scores

Mid-Term Grading

The use of mid-term grades will allow instructors to post mid-term grades to state the students' standing half way through a semester.  Instructors will be provided on-line mid-term grade rosters through Faculty Center.  Instructors will be able to post mid-term grades beginning the seventh week of classes through the ninth week of classes.  Students will be able to view their mid-term grades through the Student Center.

For the Spring 2013 semester, Mid-Term Grade submission dates will be:

    February 18, 2013 (10:00AM EST) through March 3, 2013 (11:59PM EST).
