Main Duties:
The main purpose for the VA department in the Office of Registration and Records is to assist veteran students in receiving
benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill. This office ensures that the proper paperwork is filled out, certified, and filed with
the VA so that payment dispersal can begin. If you are a veteran who will be attending classes at BGSU, or if you have any

VA Certifying Official:
Carol Gill is the Certifying Official in our office. Carol has been with Registration and Records since 1993 and has worked
on campus since 1988. The duties of the Certifying Official include certifying government paperwork for those receiving, or
those who are eligible for, VA benefits. Carol is also responsible for auditing records at the end of the semester to ensure
timely notification of any changes in student veteran benefits. To ensure that all the information we have to offer is current,
Carol attends VA workshops regularly and also stays in close contact with VA officials.
