The
Department of Popular Culture studies the forms of creative
expression we use in everyday life. Courses in folklore
and folklife focus on the study and collection of folklore,
oral narratives, nonverbal folklore (material culture)
as well as intensive studies into regional folklore and
distinctive folk genres. (See also Popular
Culture.)
