In
conjunction with the College of Education and Human Development,
the technology education major prepares students to be
qualified technology education teachers able to provide
leadership in the technology education field. The study
of technology education contains both a component of a
liberal education and an integration of other disciplines
or technologies through application-based, problem-solving
courses.
Students
in the Technology Education major are required to participate
in a 10-week field experience (student teaching). In addition,
technology education majors may choose to participate
in the college's cooperative education program. This semester-long,
full-time work experience enables students to apply knowledge
gained in the classroom to real work situations.
Teacher
education majors or practicing teachers in comprehensive
science, physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, social
studies, environmental science or computer science may
earn certification to teach technology education by completing
a technical core of 36 hours.
Learning
Outcomes

technologies;
- Design,
